The chain, dots and dashes are .925 sterling silver, never plated: 92.5% pure silver, with no thin coating to wear away. Like all real silver it can darken a little over time, and a soft polishing cloth brings the shine right back. The spacers are 14k gold filled, a thick layer of real 14k gold bonded to the core that makes up about 5% of each spacer by weight, far more gold than plating, so it keeps its warm color for years and is gentle on sensitive skin.
